I can't believe I'm going to be typing this out. But Rant Fever seems like a good place, so why not?
Nevermind... I have once again typed paragraphs and deleted them. I will, however, leave the category in tact. My dry friend, it does not involve who you might think.

I was thinking, as today is a day when many of our freedoms were paid for with blood, of how little people know these days about history and our rights. I came up with a quiz for some of my coworkers. Most answered it incorrectly. I'd like to see how civic minded ranters do. So here it is:
Which of the following is a right guaranteed by the Constitution and its Amendments?
A) The right to liberty.
B) The right to vote.
C) The right to not quarter soldiers.
D) The right to own property.
E) The right to a fair trial.
As a help which my coworkers did not have, here is a variation. The process of elimination will only go so far:
Which is not a right guaranteed by the Constitution and its Amendments?
A) The right to assemble.
B) The right not to quarter soldiers.
C) The right to petition the government for a redress.
D) The right to vote.
E) The right to a trial by jury in a civil case.

For those of you not familiar with Ann Coulter, (she has not been mentioned in a while) her article today is top notch on the way our Presidential Election system really works.

So, I was went to a movie the other day, suddenly on the screen scenes from the battle of Normandy appeared with patriotic music in the background. The scenes then switched to Martin Luther King Jr., Rosa Parks, and the like obviously representing the Civil Rights movement of the 60s. Finally, the scenes transitioned to those attached to "Global Warming" and a voice calling it the struggle of our day. I was floored. I loudly verbalized my disgust. Comparing global warming" to D-day, that was so disgraceful. Luckily a gentlemen in the row in front of me shared my disgust and agreed. First the Time magazine cover, and now commercials before movies. WHEN WILL THIS CRACKPOT INSANITY END?

It is one of the more interesting political commentaries I've read in a long time.
Enjoy!

That is my question. Recently I've considered allowing my self to fall victim to the phenomenon we know by the term blogging. I have mixed feelings about bearing my soul to the world. I used to write an email to friends, every so often, updating them on my life, but I got lazy. I figure blogging may be able to fill the gap. Many of my friends have started, but I don't think I could give in to the "dark side" on this one. If I were to do it, I might go all out, personalized webpage etc. This may be more trouble than it is worth. Furthermore, how much does one include on a blog? Alas, this is my predicament.
(For those of you who consider Rant Fever your blog, I would caution all but our Leader the dry one against this. This is more of a forum than a blog. That is all.)

Time magazine has done a lot of stupid things, but I think
this takes the stupid cake. It is a disgrace to all our nation once held dear.

Well, the fateful day has come and unless you have filed an extension you are late in reporting your life to the federal government. Some lie, some cheat, some look the other way, and there are even some who are honest in their dealings, even with the government. Since the Poll option is yet to be added to our glorious Rant Fever 2.0, I will simply as the question directly. Where do the Ranters fall when it comes to Tax "Returns." The scale is "I 'owe' a small fortune, why I have no idea." to "The government is returning a lot of my hard earned money. I wish I knew why they took it in the first place."
For me the government is returning a lot of my hard earned money. Maybe I'll take a trip to Hawaii.

I read
this and absolutely loved it. This is a speech that Neal Boortz would love to deliver as a commencement address but will never be allowed, because it does not support the educational goals of the day. Read it, it may be eye opening.
